Tuusula District Court found a man guilty of ethnic agitation on account of spreading racist material on the internet. The material consisted of slanderous remarks against immigrants, asylum seekers, people of African and Middle-Eastern origin and Roma.

 

In the statements published on his internet page, the man characterizes the people belonging to the aforementioned groups as dangerous, as they are violent by nature and commit more crimes than the majority population. He also refers to those belonging to the groups in question as "parasites" living on the expense of others, and compares the effect that these population groups have on the society with an "infectious disease".

 

The court ordered the web pages administered by the defendant to be removed, as well as sentenced him to 25 day-fines, amounting to 825 euros.
