The pre-electoral program of the extreme right wing party of LAOS (‘Popular Orthodox Alert’, laos=folk) contained a section on irregular immigrants, considering them to be ‘the most serious plague of the Greek society today’.

 

Later that year (27.08.2007), the above party issued a press release on the recent devastating forest fires in Greece advancing the hypothesis that immigrants may be the arsonists as potential ‘enemies of this country’.
