A joint initiative of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa [Holy House of Mercy of Lisbon], the Lisbon Municipality and ACIDI, I.P. promoted the project Roteiro da Saúde Materno Infantil [Mother and Child Health Care Itinerary]. This project operates with mobile units and aims to promote health assistance among immigrants, especially to children and pregnant women. Parking in central places of Lisbon where immigrants usually meet, this mobile unit allows undocumented immigrants, who are many times afraid to go to a hospital, to make a simple check up and to receive information about accessing health care and specific information on child and pregnant woman care.
