Xenophobic attack against a Portuguese man
A dark-skinned Portuguese man was seriously injured in an openly xenophobic attack in Hamburg. The 37-year old man had been driving his car when, at a red light, someone stuck a racist sticker from the NPD on the back of his car. The man got out of his car to address the man responsible, who responded by insulting the Portuguese man and then hitting him repeatedly in the face until he fell to the ground. The attacker then got into a car in which his accomplice had been waiting, and drove off. The Portuguese man suffered two brain hemorrhages and required an emergency operation at the hospital. The attacker, who police presume to be between 18 and 25, and his accomplice were not found.
