Two men attacked in a subway station in Berlin
On 19 September 2009, two Iranian men, aged 55 and 60 were attacked in a subway station in Berlin. The two men were first insulted in a racist manner and then brutally attacked by a group of four people, two men and two women. After the 60 year old man fell to the ground and lost consciousness, the 26 year old perpetrator kicked against his head. A staff member of the subway company and another witness could prevent further attacks. Three of the perpetrators have been sentenced by the state court. The court could not identify a xenophobic motivated attack.
