Repeated attack on an asylum seeker home
In the early hours of 26 April 2010, an unknown individual threw a rock at an asylum seeker home in Harbke and broke a window. No one was injured, but there have been a series of incidents directed at this asylum seeker home. According to the Integration Commissioner of the State Government, the incident is the fourth or fifth in a few weeks. Other incidents include damage to windows and spray-painted swastikas. The incident has led to a local discussion about the remote and isolated location of the facility. The residents feel insecure, because the next police station is located far away from their home. The socialist party Die LINKE supports the closure of the home, as do other local officials.
