‘Getting to Know Queer People’ Programme

The programme has been run by Labrisz Lesbian Association since 2000, and in cooperation with Szimpozion Association since 2007.

Schools, colleges and youth organizations invite the volunteers of the programme; interactive sessions are offered by a male and a female trainer for students and teachers about stereotypes, homophobia, gender identity, sexual orientation, rights and freedoms, coming out, issues affecting LGBT people, and the work of grass roots civil rights organisations. Each year new trainers are trained, a teacher’s manual has been published by Labrisz, and the programme is invited to an ever increasing number of schools and colleges, including ones in the countryside.
