Violence against Algerian school boy
In a small rural village, three young people beat an 11-year-old Algerian schoolboy. They uttered racial insults during the assaults. The beating was part of a larger trend among the village’s teenagers, illustrated by the growing number of anti-Semitic and racist grafitti eulogizing Nazism and the French National Front in buses stations and various places of the village.
The racist motive was not taken into consideration by the Public Prosecutor’s office, which nevertheless considered the insults to be xenophobic.
