Aer Lingus forced to apologise after alleged discriminatory practices
Irelands national airline Aer Lingus have apologised to a passenger that was subjected to a language test in English and Greek to determine her identlty, despite her being resident in Ireland since 1988. Upon seeking clarification from the airline as to the legal basis of this test, Dr Chryssa Dislis had her and her daughters luggage removed from the plane and was informed that “because many people from your country travel on false papers”. Dr Dislis is preparing a complaint under equality legislation.
