Bulgaria’s Parliament Votes National Strategy for Inegration of Roma in Bulgaria 2012 – 2020
On 1 March 2012, the Bulgarian Prarliament approved the National Strategy for Roma Integration of the Republic of Bulgaria (2012-2020) – a policy framework document setting guidelines for implementing the policy of social integration of Roma.
Creating conditions for equal integration of Roma and the Bulgarians in a vulnerable position of other ethnic origin to the social and economic life by providing equal opportunities and equal access to rights, benefits, goods and services, participation in all public areas and improving the quality of life while respecting the principles of equality and non discrimination. Among the priority: education, health, housing, employment, rule of law and non-discrimination, culture and media.
