On July 7th 2010, a right wing extremists attack on an apartment building inhabited by families and students from different countries took place in Vienna. Residents spotted a person with neo-Nazi appearance writing xenophobic phrases on the walls. They called the police and reported the incident. After the police had left a second person arrived and also started to write xenophobic phrases at some walls and doors. Shortly afterwards, the garbage cans were set on fire. A resident reported that they had received a death threat a couple of days before.
Later on the perpetrators attacked the apartment house and tried to light a fire again. It is assumed that they belonged to a neo-Nazi group in Vienna. The police and the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and the Suppression of Terrorism investigated the case.
