Bus drunk jailed for racist abuse
A drunken bus passenger who has 29 previous convictions has been jailed for 3 months after calling a Dublin bus driver a "P**i bastard" after he was asked to put out his cigarette. Judge Dunne said that this showed "racist and ethnic prejudice" and that one could only "speculate of the fear, upset and anxiety that passengers would have felt when confronted with this strong, robust individual in an enclosed environment in such a heavy degree of intoxication."
