From January 1, 2009, the work against discrimination and harassment is regulated in both the Discrimination Act (2008:567) and the Education Act (2010:800). Schools or preschool must draw up an equality plan and an annual plan to combat degrading treatment. The Equality Ombudsman (DO) in collaboration with Child and School Student Representative (BEO) at the Schools Inspectorate and Education Administration have developed a free webtool called Planforskolan.se, that helps schools combine the two plans into one. The tool is aimed primarily at school staff or others responsible for implementing policies against discrimination and degrading treatment of children.
