On 1 July 2011, a new Education Act (2010:800) with an integrated curriculum for primary education, compulsory school, Sami school and special school entered into force. The Draft Act and the national curriculum both stipulate that all people who work in schools are obliged to promote respect for human rights and clearly disassociate themselves from anything that conflicts with these values.[1] [1] Education Act (2010:800), http://www.skolverket.se/lagar-och-regler/2.3351(accessed 2012-03-10).
